I'm not sure I've ever heard Lower Queen Anne referred to as Uptown before, though I suppose since Uptown Espresso started there it makes sense. Neighborhood names are fun and funny.

Tonight I'm seeing the final preview of Little Women at Seattle Rep, which I'm very excited about.

Later this week I'm helping out at tech for Georgiana & Kitty: Christmas at Pemberley at Taproot Theatre (https://taproottheatre.org/shows/2023/georgiana-kitty-christmas-at-pemberley/), the third installment of Lauren Gunderson & Margot Melcon's Jane Austen/Pride & Prejudice inspired Christmas trilogy (Taproot did the first in 2018 or 2019 and the second last year. SecondStory Rep in Redmond is doing the first one this year: https://www.secondstoryrep.org/product-page/miss-bennet-christmas-at-pemberley), as well as working lighting hang and focus for Charlie Brown Christmas which is very happily returning after a several year hiatus to Taproot's Isaac Studio Theatre (https://taproottheatre.org/shows/2023/a-charlie-brown-christmas-2023/).

Ah the whole transition from Lower Queen Anne to Uptown was quite controversial! I thought it was silly, but have decided to embrace it as it's what it officially says now on Google maps 😅

I love that I get to learn about what's going on in the local theater world through your shares - will definitely include these in the next newsletter!
